More than words wednesday

Hari ni Hafiyya demam untuk hari ke-3. It's her 2nd time being sick (1st one was last month) and already I'm feeling so helpless. So masa hari ke-1 demam we took her to klinik biasa kat area2 situ (lepas ni klinik ini akan di refer sebagai klinik X) sebab masa tu kat rumah MIL. The doctor prescribe few medicine bla bla so fine la balik la rumah bagi Hafiyya makan.

Hari pertama demam

Hari ke-2 demam I took Hafiyya to DEMC kat Shah Alam jumpa pediatrician yang biasanya Hafiyya checkup every month tu. Pediatrician ni nama dia Dr. Fadzilah memang aku suka gila ia ni, an attentive and caring person.

Sbab apa aku patah balik gi DEMC? Ni sebab Hafiyya had an allergic reaction on her cheeks tambah pulak masih demam. Kami syak the doctor in Klinik X prescribe the wrong antibiotic sebab tu naik merah2. Naya anak aku.

Mula ada merah2 boh sides tapi lama kurang sikit tinggal sebelah.


Dr. Fadzilah says it's viral fever and should subside within 2-3 days. Yeserday nak dekat2 magrib tu felt her eyes and mouth so hot, took the temp and found it to be 38.8! Cepat2 aku bagitau SIL (dia M.O) tapi SIL quite relaxed (perhaps it's just me being overly worried?) Suruh aku lap2 badan Hafiyya je and iku arahan kasi ubat demam every 5-6 hours.


Tambahan pulak Dr. Fazilah kata it's normal for her temperature to be fluctuating. Biarkan dia dalam bilik berkipas kasi haba keluar dan pakai baju nipis2 je and observe her behaviour. She seems ok but finding it hard to feed her. Tamau minum susu minah ni. Tapi makan bubur nasi dia lalu pulak. Any opinions from experienced mommies?


I guess she is now more than 6 months old so having a fever is really normal unless she is below 3 months, sah2 kena admit la kot. Ni info aku baca from internet ye:
  • usually fever in babies will go up and down for 3-4 days and it should be stable after that.
  • If she is having flu like cough and runny nose, it will take at least a week before she can really sleep well.
  • Throwing up in a way is good at least her body is fighting against the viral.
  • Do not stop feeding her <-- aku hanya mampu suap air kosong sesekali je sebab susu ia reject. Kasi makan bubur 2-3 hari sekali dia makan je.
Also I use a wet towel to rub on her body especially her ampits, forehead bila agak2 panas then rub with a dry towel (macam pic 1st tu aku malas nak ajust turun balik pic ni). I know the feeling memang tak best bila baby sakit coz you will worry and feel helpless, tapi harap bertabah lah.

Hafiyya & daddy. Piya ni time bergumbira cari daddy, time sakit baru la nak kat mummy dia.

Well nak komplen skit. My SIL kata sekarang arahan KKM setiap ubat diberi kena ada label di depan. Kena ada:
  • Nama ubat
  • Kandungan ubat
  • No pendaftaran dan label hologram yang disahkan KKM.
Contoh ubat ikut procedure

Sebab semua ubat sekarang standardize dikeluarkan dan wajib diluluskan ahulu oleh KKM
even to kinik2 biasa (siapa doctor baca pls correct me if I'm wrong ye). Siapa rajin baca lah kat sini.

Kerajaan tamau la klinik2 ni beli ubat dari India or etc yang style kita dulu2 tu kan, klinik2 beli ubat dalam botol besar lepas tu bila nak bagi patient tuang dalam botol2 kecik kepada patient tanpa labelkan nama ubat tu. Contohnya just labelkan ni ubat demam tapi jenis antibiotik jenis apa (paracetamol/panadol/etc) tak dinyatakan.

Kenapa baca blog orang?

Nak tanya kan, are there certain bloggers that:

  • you read his/ her blog daily tak kisah la topic pasal apa pun??? Tak semestinya jadi follower or tinggal komen selalu kan, mungkin hanya silent reader kepada mereka?
  • Atau korang jenis nampak tajuk entry bombastik and interesting baru baca?

I have to say I fall into both category 1 & 2 ; there are a few I read no matter what the title says. Ada orang baca saja nak tau cara kehidupan orang lain someone else's life dan bla2. I read blogs for different reasons such as:

  • sometimes to be entertained, sometimes saje nak tau lifestyle orang lain
  • read the blogs that I can relate to. The way I look at it, like we are all in the same boat, and we can all learn from each other.
  • Ada jugak la yang takde kene mengena tapi suka gak baca. Yang bahasa sempoi and lawak2 skit. I like to learn about how other people think.

My way of writting blog is like my ramblings page. A.k.a merapu. Heheh. It's just my thoughts and what I happen to be thinking at that particular time or activity/ event happened that I wish to share. I don't expect everyone to read and agree every single thing I write because everyone have different preference. So do I. Ada jugak some things that aku kurang gemar pasal blog orang lain (no, I'm not naming names here coz I'm not perffect either) such as:

  • Bloggers who don't provide any "about me" info on their blog, or pointers to it elsewhere on their site. I like to know more about the people I'm reading.
  • When a blog takes forever (and a mean more than 1-2 minutes!) to load.
  • Blogger yang suka cerita hal2 dalam rumahtangga yang tak sesuai dicerita untuk 18 tahun ke bawah. Even if it is meant for 18 above, macam tak sesuai je cerita hal dalam kelambu kan?

That's all I guess. The rest are fine. Ada orang tak gemar bloggers yang ala2 menunjuk dalam blog etc. Itu tepuk dada tanya selera. I dont have any problem with that. Mungkin mereka2 ni tak berniat menunjuk pun sebab memang itu gaya hidup dia. "You should look for blogs that write about the areas that interest you. Tak suka jangan baca, simple kan? Tak payah tinggal kan komen yang menyakitkan hati. Bersopanlah anda walau di alam maya sekali pun. Syukur takde lalat2 singgah lagi di blog ni :) mungkin sebab tak popular hehehe.

Pedas boleh kurus?

While having dinner with my mum the other day, tetiba macam mana tah terkeluar topic siapa nak kurus dan awet muda makan pedas2, sambil kami masa tu tengah makan nasi berlaukkan udang galah masak sambal. Memula aku syak mama saje keluar kan topic tu bagi nak lakukan udang masak cilinya nya itu.Tapi kalau tak pasal topic tu pun memang kitorang anak beranak suka je udang galah, memang biasanya licin je.

So apa pendapat korang? Pernah dengar tak orang kata makan pedas (cili) boleh awet muda dan slim? Perasan tak people in Asia are usually slimmer than the Europeans or Americans? Biasanya dalam masakan orang Asia ni contains 3 main ingredients: garlic, chili and ginger. All these ingredients have a lot of anti oxidants and other nutrients that are good for our health.

Oleh kerana ada bahan anti oxidants, so tayah la makan Brand's Innershine Prune Essence kan kan? Sama je fungsinya. Prune is a antioxidant food and it is good for detoxifying, so will be able to flush out your toxins. When u have good digestive system, your skin will be good as well. Kesimpulannya nak cantik makan lah makanan pedas! Sebab aku kalau lepas makan pedas sangat confirm gi bilik air lepas tu. Eh ke semua orang pun macam tu.

Tapi bebaru ni aku consume jugak Prune Innershine ni, mana tau leh cantik cam Adira. Tapi baru 7 botol minum. Nanti dah 700 botol baru aku buat testimonial ye. Ye la dah selang sehari minum kan, asyik lupa je nak minum.


Based on my observation dan experience, bab awet muda tu aku agak setuju tapi bab kurus tu maybe it do apply to certain people including me. Bukan nak cakap besar, aku seumur hidup tak pernah diet, I'm quite a good eater and kadangkala makan dalam quantity sikit tapi sangat kerap. Harap2 selepas usia mencecah 30 +++++ nanti aku maintain slim (slim sangat ke skrg? tipu je) and tahap metabolisme aku masih lagi tinggi seperti sekarang. Oh tapi sekarang badan aku dah agak berisi dari dulu, mungkin sebab aku dah beranak kot (tanak ngaku naik sebab faktor umur tu!).

Bab2 awet muda, kami anak beranak memang nampak muda dari umur sebenar, mungkin faktor genetik kot. Takde la nampak muda 10-20 tahun kan. Cukup la tu muda 4-5 tahun. Tua tetap tua asal jangan orang kata nampak tua dari usia sebenar sudah. Again, thanks to the spicy food, kalau itulah penyebabnya :D

Tapi for sure aku suka makan chili yang lagi satu ni. Awas, chili yang satu ni tak dijamin boleh menguruskan badan. Menambahkan berat badan boleh la!

Bagi sesiapa yang suka makanan pedas jangan risau, by eating chili (cili merah bukan chili's!) has not been proven to hurt you in the long run. Try not to eat spicy food before going to bed. The heat which raises your metabolic rate will actually keep you from sleeping. (sources: Internet).
