Aku rasa aku pernah cerita perihal asal usul nama2 ni dalam blog lama. Mana blog lama aku? For me to keep for you to find out kot.
Anyway, my mom told us that my brother (1st brother) was almost named Azmir. She thought it was a very interesting name and masa tu nama tu tengah hot la, macam zaman sekarang ni nama Daniel, Haikal, etc2 kan? My brother would've been named Aniza if he was a girl. I'm semi-thankful she changed her mind and end up naming my brother Edi or else my name would be Aniza then. Sorry ye sesapa nama Aniza, I think I prefer my name more :)
My brother's middle name (second name) was named after out late grandfather yang kembali ke rahmatullah on the same day he was born. So nama dia ala2 artis zaman 60-an; 1st name nama glamour, 2nd name nama oldskool2 gitu. Edi Shamsudin.
Hah amik kau satu Malaysia tau nama dia.
I was named after Indonesian actress Widyawati, ala pelakon zaman 70-an and 80an (tapi spelling di+/- skit kasi nampak adik beradik skit nama dgn abang2 I). Lagipun my late Opah mmg berhajat sgt nak salah sorang cucu dia dinamakan nama tu. Ok la tu kalau gi Jakarta, when they get to know my name mbak2 and wak2 sana suka betul sebut nama aku, sedap and senang disebut kot. Terasa mcm part of them gitu.
However my mum keep saying that it is not an Indonesian name. She claimed she made it up. Ye la made it up based on popular actress bernama Widyawati kan?
When I was in school or even sampai sekarang la, once in a while I get asked how to pronounce my name. To tell you the truth, I don’t get too hung up on the pronounciation of my name. There is no correct way to pronounce my name, since my mom just made the name up (as she claimed). Furthermore, every language has different ways to pronounce letters. My family and most people pronounced my name as 'I' followed by DIA and ada jugak yang guna bahasa baku pronounced my name as in 'E' (teleng) followed by DIA.
So who are you named after? Wah terror la konon akhiri entry dgn persoalan. Macam ada je nak jawab.
